A large beetle about two meters long.

It has a hard dark carapace, strong spiny legs and mighty mandibles. It feeds mainly on plants and carrion, but it also attacks people and animals.

Different species can be found in different environments, often underground and in caves, in forests, but even in the desert.

Like most giant insects it arose through the effects of magic, and yet it is able to reproduce.
