Giant striders are terrible arachnids, of which fortunately only a few live. Unlike their smaller relatives they have only a few young, and for a strider to grow up, it needs an enormous amount of food. Usually it wipes out everything in the area, or its prey escapes, and then it starves to death. Only a few individuals reach adulthood, and only where there is enough food. The chance that they will mate is even smaller – two such giants have to meet and find enough food in one area.
