The jazgath is a repulsive creature with dark, green-brown skin covered in small growths. It has two hooked tentacles and one stinging one. It lives alone or in pairs in swamps and stagnant waters. It is an omnivore, and when it is hungry (which is almost always), it attacks everything that moves. When it is not lying in wait for prey, it lies in its lair digesting.

It does not care for treasure, but the remains of its victims can be found in its innards, because it often devours them along with their equipment, which then lies in its stomach for a long time.

Combat

The jazgath tries to catch its victim with its tentacles. Besides that, it can exhale poison gas that kills its prey; it always leads its first attack with the gas. It takes about an hour, however, to gather another dose of gas.
