The klobg lives in swamps and marshes. It stands well over two meters tall and its body is covered with scales that change color according to the surroundings, so it camouflages itself superbly. Its long, strong limbs ending in sharp claws serve it for moving through swamps and for fighting.

Its tongue is as long as its whole body, and the klobg can shoot it out of its maw far ahead. At its end are small tentacle-like mouths with which it senses smells and produces strong vibrations it uses to communicate with other klobgs.

It is a mostly nocturnal and highly territorial creature. It hunts smaller animals, rodents, birds and fish, and during the day it hides in burrows beneath the surface of the mud. When it feels threatened or discovers intruders in its territory, it makes deep bubbling sounds that warn other klobgs nearby.

Although it is aggressive towards intruders, it also shows curiosity and interest in human settlements and their inhabitants. Objects that catch its interest it carries off to its burrow as treasure.
