The Mantis has a dark green body and two claws with which it catches its victims. It lives in tropical rainforests and thanks to its excellent camouflage coloring it is almost indistinguishable in the greenery. It does not build a nest; it carries its eggs attached to its back.

Cannibalism is common among mantises: after mating the female eats the male, especially in times of food shortage.

Combat

The mantis hunts very patiently and waits until prey passes by. It attacks with lightning speed and almost always surprises its victim. It devours its prey on the spot where it caught it. If it comes upon a group, it tries to snatch one of them and run off with them; it is fast and has stamina.
