The Horror from the Deep is an octopus so huge and dangerous that sailors often mistake it for the lord of the depths himself. Despite its colossal size and strength, however, it is still just an octopus, fairly clever, but an animal. Defeating it, or at least driving it away, is nevertheless anything but easy.

Combat

Tentacles

Each tentacle is a separate limb and can be disabled or cut off. If the octopus loses half of its tentacles or is seriously wounded, it releases its prey, squirts ink and flees.

Ink

Ink released into the water makes it almost impossible to see anything over a wide area. The octopus itself cannot see in it either, but it easily finds its way in it and swims away.
