The python is the largest snake in the world. It usually measures twenty meters, but it can grow to thirty. It has light green skin with a brown zigzag line on its back. It lives in the rainforest as a loner that tolerates no rival: in its territory it exterminates all competitors and can strangle even an elephant. It feeds on large animals, such as monkeys or the young of elephants and hippos. It attacks members of its own species except in the mating season. It lives many hundreds of years and mates once every hundred years; the young wrestle each other until only the strongest survives.

The python desires domination and submits to no one except its goddess Sansri and her higher priests. It may live in her temples, where it is worshipped as a high priest; in the main temples it is not the highest, but it holds a prominent position. It is said that it can turn into a human.

Combat

The python attacks with a bite carrying a very strong poison; it simply swallows smaller rivals and almost always strangles larger ones. It can beguile opponents, and since it is a priest of Sansri, it can use all her prayers. In a temple it is therefore almost invincible.
