Sirii are large blue-black dragonflies with four legs, two compound eyes and a stinger. They live in swamps and wetlands; sometimes they can also be met near lakes and large rivers.

In autumn the females lay eggs in the mud; in spring young sirii hatch from them, which grow up by the end of the year and can mate.

They are very voracious. They devour large numbers of rats, fish and insects, which they swallow whole, and in a swarm they hunt larger animals too.

Combat

Sirii know no fear. They attack larger prey in a swarm and sting it with their stingers until the poison brings it down. Then they all throw themselves on it at once and within a few minutes tear it apart and devour it.
