The Spectral Wolf is a terrifying magical being resembling a huge wolf, whose body faintly lets the surrounding light shine through. It arises through dark magic or spontaneously in places strongly marked by death or by accumulated magical energy, where the boundary between life and death is unstable. Its birth requires the body of a dead wolf and freshly spilled human blood, which binds the world of the living and the dead.

It stands on the border of existence, neither fully alive nor undead. It keeps its animal instincts, but has a sinister, unusual intelligence. It cannot be tamed or controlled: it follows only an insatiable hunting drive and attacks every living being until it is destroyed or until the magic that keeps it in existence dissipates.

Combat

It cannot bear sunlight and dissolves at its mere flash. In strong magical or divine light it fights noticeably worse.
