A suotix is a creature on the border between plant and animal. When it has enough water and light, it stands rooted in the ground and nobody can tell how dangerous it is. But when it suffers want, its conditions change or someone injures it (for example a woodcutter with an axe), it “wakes up” and turns into a carnivorous plant that can even move.

It reproduces like plants – by offshoots and by seeds. Where suotixes thrive, hundreds or even thousands of them grow in one place. An awakened suotix releases a substance that irritates the others, so it can wake a whole stand.

Combat

A suotix attacks with poisonous tendrils. It tries to strangle a caught victim and then slowly suck it dry. It does not need to see, it knows no fear, it is tough and has no vital spots. Clubs, hammers, spears, arrows and stones barely harm it; against it, cutting weapons are suitable, above all axes.
