The Terrorbird is one of the very largest animals that ever lived. It is so big that it can carry off a small elephant and have it for lunch. It nests on deserted islands and other inaccessible places. Because of its size it has trouble finding enough food: it soon fishes out everything within its flying range, or its prey learns to hide. That is why it often hunts at sea, where it finds large creatures and food does not run out.

It is not very bright, but since it is practically invincible, it need not fear anything. Only a loud noise can frighten it, for example a thunderstorm or a volcanic eruption; then it takes off and flies elsewhere. It flies tirelessly and far.

Combat

Few would stand up to a terrorbird, perhaps a dragon or another titanic creature. It simply swallows most opponents or grabs them in its talons and carries them off to its nest; larger ones it attacks with its beak.
