The Winged Serpent is a green-blue reptile with two membranous wings just behind its head. Two curved venomous fangs protrude from its mouth. It lives in small groups of three to eight members in mountain forests. It builds its nest in an inaccessible place and sets out from there to hunt. The serpents hatch from eggs, which the group defends fiercely.

The group is led by a leader, more capable in combat and in spells, who may also command priestly prayers. The others obey him, but stronger members try to overthrow him from time to time. Winged serpents strive to dominate their surroundings: they enslave goblins and other creatures and force them to gather food and treasure, especially green gems, which they love above all. Priests of Sansri sometimes win them over as scouts.

Spells

Winged serpents command psychic and illusion magic and prefer to fight at range. Favorite spells: Psychic Whipping (damage), Dance, False Beast (illusion of an animal, usually another serpent), Living Dead (feigns death), False Friendship (beguilement), Illusion of Invisibility (invisible until the first attack) and Illusion of Size (enlargement).

Combat

Up close they attack with strong venomous fangs and can effectively strangle a victim. They fly, and combined with spells and numbers this makes them very dangerous opponents.
