Kentu | Heroes of Fantasy

Kentu

Very little is generally known about the kentu. According to legends, their civilization lived in the world even before the gods themselves. In ancient times a catastrophe supposedly struck them; according to some sources it was their own war, according to others their end was brought about by a power from an alien world.

Whatever it was, the kentu fell into oblivion and for long ages they have been trying to rise back to the times of glory and power. Today their population is relatively small.

In appearance the kentu resemble humans, but they certainly cannot be mistaken for a human. They have white hair and violet eyes, and few can bear their gaze.

Only rarely are they communicative or even talkative; they always prefer to weigh everything rather than make a mistake and give something away. In negotiations they always have very good arguments and their speech is exceedingly persuasive. Those who argue with them often find during the conversation, unexpectedly, that the words of the kentu they were arguing with are wise and true, and that there is therefore nothing left but to listen to them and agree with everything he says.

It is also said that they master magic as easily as a fish can swim. Few can confirm this, however, because if they do master such an art, they certainly do not boast of it in the marketplace or in a tavern.

Summary of abilities

Secrecy

Every kentu can hold their tongue, and very little can make them talk if they do not want to say anything. They thus have a +5 bonus to the roll when someone tries to persuade, convince or psychically influence them (or rather, negotiation with a kentu is 5 points more difficult when someone wants to get information out of them).
