Andril - God of light and truth

Balance: Order (up to absolute)

Inclination: Light

Goals and intentions of the cult

Andril represents the purest light and good, but he is also a wellspring of knowledge and the patron of pure art. He has many names in the world and is often understood as several deities. He is most often invoked as a protector against darkness, a guardian of light; he is asked for advice, but artists also pray to him for inspiration. Since his sphere of influence is fairly broad and interpretations of good differ, there arise many different cults and offshoots, often very different from one another.

Priests of Truth

Some cults favor his light as the only salvation from the Darkness that surrounds the whole world. Fanatical believers and priests of this branch may go as far as inquisitorial practices and witch hunts.

Priests of the Book

The second current is formed by wisdom and knowledge, for Andril is the patron of thinkers, scholars, teachers and philosophers. They try to find the real truth of the world and answer the many questions that have troubled mankind since time immemorial. This part of the believers is very mild and often speaks out against witch hunts and similar deeds.

Priests of Light

The third current focuses on peace of the soul and knowledge of oneself. These priests completely reject violence, never carry weapons and never shed blood. They are generally regarded as the most respected priests of all, and whoever harmed them would face a terrible curse.

Priests of classical beauty

The fourth current regards Andril as the father of primordial beauty. They try to seek out people with talent and support them so that they create the most perfect works in celebration of their god. Unlike the priests of Tanalé, however, they have precise standards of beauty and perfection, and so they train artists to create classical works rather than seek new directions and change.

Weapons

Andril favors no weapons and rather expects his believers to overcome obstacles with their reason. On the other hand, he does not prevent anyone from fighting; he simply does not support it.

General prayers

Andril, like all the gods, hears general prayers and prayers from his domain. Because of his nature, his worshipers are completely denied access to prayers of Darkness, and conversely he hears general prayers of Light much more willingly (you have a +5 bonus to them).
