Urxuros - spider god
Balance: Absolute Chaos
Inclination: Darkness
For Urxuros and his cult the number eight has the greatest significance. A spider web has eight points, and all the notable events, prayers and rituals of the spider cult are associated with the number eight.
On Illiador, where a week has 10 days, the eighth day is significant for the worshipers of Urxuros; it is generally called galmen, but for you urxur.
Goals and intentions of the cult
The spider cult currently belongs among the small, insignificant religions. It used to be powerful, but because of the intrigues of the priests of other cults it fell into undeserved disfavor. The spider god withdrew into seclusion and never again rose to his former strength and power. His temples stand in desolate places, where they are in nobody's way and can secretly restore their lost power.
The temples of Urxuros are built of black stone. They have an octagonal floor plan (the same as a spider web), and so is their internal arrangement.
The duty of the priests is to restore his old glory and punish the other cults for their baseness and all the inhabitants for not defending their beloved god and turning away from him.
Sacrifices
The cult has few true worshipers, and so Urxuros draws strength from the sacrifices that the priests bring him (in the temples the victims are thrown to giant spiders).
You must bring your god regular sacrifices to secure his favour, preferably young girls or men.
If you fail to do so at least once a week, you have a -5 penalty to sending all prayers.
Conversely, if you bring a sacrifice on the eighth day of the week (according to the reckoning of Urxuros), you will have a +5 bonus to sending prayers for the following week.
Weapons
The priests of Urxuros use cutting weapons - daggers, long knives and swords.
The Eight figures
The priests of Urxuros have the ability to sketch Figures in the air, symbols of the rule of Urxuros. Under normal conditions every character standing against you has a 1d6/ 4 chance (a roll of 4 or more) of seeing the figure. All who look directly at you (attacking, casting spells and the like) are hit automatically. Those who have their backs to you are out of danger. None of the figures works on the faithful of Urxuros.
Vengeance
Urxuros is the lord of vengeance, and therefore he gladly helps you with your vengeance. For all curses and general prayers that contain the words wrath, vengeance or malice, you have a +5 bonus to priesthood.
