Quality and price
The price of items naturally depends on quality. The price in the following description is always for an average item (quality 0). The price changes according to quality:
| Quality | Description | Price |
|---|---|---|
| -3 | beggar's | 1/10 |
| -2 | poor | 1/4 |
| -1 | village | 1/2 |
| 0 | town | - |
| +1 | merchant's | x5 |
| +2 | noble | x20 |
| +3 | royal | x100 |
Legality and availability (LA)
Not all goods are available everywhere and not everything may be sold. The rarer or more forbidden the goods, the lower their legality (or the higher their illegality). Goods L-0 (legality 0) are completely free and practically anyone can buy / sell them; being caught with L-3 goods means the death penalty or the galleys.
The availability of goods can be described similarly. A-0 are commonly available goods (food, clothing, lodging, kitchen supplies); A-3 cannot be obtained at all.
Illegal goods can easily be available A-1 (for example drugs).
| L | Legality of goods |
|---|---|
| -3 | forbidden, punishable |
| -2 | only for some, not permitted |
| -1 | restricted sale, license |
| 0 | without restriction |
| A | Availability of goods |
|---|---|
| -3 | cannot be obtained |
| -2 | black market, rare goods |
| -1 | only in some places, specialized shop |
| 0 | commonly available |
LA summary
We can also give just LA as a summary of legality and availability (goods are either unavailable, or forbidden and then also unavailable).
