Protection from evil

Protection from evil

This is magical or divine protection invoked by a spell, a prayer, or a special divine gift, which gives considerable advantages in the fight against evil. If you have this advantage, you gain:

• A +5 bonus to rolls against spells of the necromancy branch, the Power of Death from the mental discipline, spells and abilities of evil magical creatures and prayers of the gods of Evil. The bonus stacks, i.e. against a lich casting a necromancy spell you have a +10 bonus
• You get a +3 bonus to defense against all beings whose essence is evil (undead, demons, ...)
• Evil beings attacking you without a weapon (claws, teeth, touch ...) have their damage multiplier reduced by 1
• The protection also hinders you from using dark powers: for each level of protection you get a -5 penalty to necromancy spells and to the Power of Death from the mental discipline
• If you come across a cursed item, you get a +5 bonus to Exploration of Mysteries to uncover it and determine its effects
