Fight timing
Beginning
When combat or another situation occurs where every moment matters, we switch from free time measurement to counting in rounds.
Round
One round lasts approximately 2-4 seconds, during which all participants of the combat take turns acting. First acts the fastest character, then the second fastest and so on down to the slowest.
Actions
In a round you have 2 actions available, which you can use for the chosen activity. In close combat you can thus attack and defend, when shooting shoot, when casting cast.
Number of actions
You have 2 actions in a round
Speed
First calculate the base speed:
Fighting and shooting:
speed = Rfx : 2 + weapon speed + bonuses + 2d6
Skills:
speed = Rfx : 2 + skill : 2 + bonuses + 2d6
Speed bonus
If your speed roll is 15 or more, you get a bonus action. Then for every further 5 points you get another bonus action.
You can use a bonus action for special maneuvers or to empower the basic ones (e.g. attack precisely or defend strongly).
Every maneuver must contain at least 1 basic action, unless you have a feat that allows you to use only bonus actions.
When he throws a dagger, WS 7 his quarter of the style is (3) so his speed will be 16.
Speed roll
Roll 2d6 and add your speed in the given activity (do not forget the Rule of two sixes / ones).
Warrior I rolls for speed [3, 2] = 5, his total will be 24
Grak rolls 3 and 1, so his total is 14.
Note: You cannot add to speed a bonus listed as „against someone“, because speed is determined against all opponents at once.
Surprise
If you are surprised, you get a speed penalty of -10 in the first round of combat
Opening
The round is opened by the character with the highest speed. If two characters have the same speed, a die or lot decides which of them starts.
Alternation of participants
The character whose turn it is may use their actions, but may also keep them for defense.
After the first character, the second fastest acts, then the third, etc.
As soon as the last participant of the combat finishes acting, the round ends.
New round
A new round begins with a speed roll.
If nobody is able or willing to fight any longer, the combat ends.
